Admittedly I'm not sure where to start. The whole trip would take a age to write about. SO here is a summary and if you know me why not give me a ring and we can do coffee and Kenya at the same time.

The Flights - very long. Landing in Dubai as it hit 38c. Man i was roasting in the small tunnel they'd provided from the plane to the terminal. On the way back we had to rush to the bus! First flight I'd had a little drink at Heathrow thinking this would help me sleep. On the plane I also had perhaps another drink to continue this potential helping. So i watch Hitchhikers and loved it. The food turns up at Midnight! I watch another movie as i am full and this would help me sleep. So my eyes start to close when i realise perhaps a visit to the boys room... I look left and see very large Asian lady snoring her head off AND the person in front of her has reclined the seat. SO I'm stuck. grrr. As soon as she wakes (an hour later) i jump over her and rush to the queue with all those who also found themselves in the same position. Oh and i was upgraded on the way back.. whoo ho. How the other half live huh!

The Food - actually nothing different to us. A lot of rice, meat and veg. A whole heap of fruit and a load of bought water.

The accommodation - Well ok I was in Nairobi the capital of Kenya. So i stayed in a room with an en suite, toilet, shower and a large Mosquito Net (always to be used!!). So nothing different at all.

The Training - Was long. To be honest I was shattered after doing the first Friday night, then all day Saturday plus Sunday afternoon. A training session on Wednesday then the following Friday, Saturday and even Sunday before i left!!!

The Suprises!!! - 1. How easy it was to live there. 2. I was preaching on the Sunday after teaching all weekend!!! 3. I was preaching in the Kibera Slums

This was the biggest surprise. What could i honestly say to a people who think I'm some fat rich white guy (ok three out of four are true)..

Plus i had the chance to see my friend prossie.

The Middle Bit - Well what would i do monday to friday. would i be bored? oh no. of course not.

Monday - Ate pizza! and did a bible study
Tuesday - Visited the Blue House and Kibera, got yellow fever and ticket to Uganda
Wednesday - training students
Thursday - trip to uganda
friday - lesson at school and talk about the website. visit to a brick making machine

So not a lot of time off really!

The Weather - not really hot. the hottest place was Uganda. lol So no tan or even tan lines!!

The People - they were all lovely and nice. Esp Gilbert who looked after me with his future wife Rophie (not sure how you would spell it but it sounds like sophie but with a R) The Rest of the team werent bad either...

lol

The Future? - I was very challenged. the trip gave me another chance to believe again. That maybe God can still use me. So he is good. But i know i still need to sort out home and thats really hard esp as its one way traffic and the light is red.

ho hum. I want to complete my training and perhaps look at other things. but at the moment its in steps of prayer as im still a bit wobbly.

thanks to Chris and Janice who i know were praying alongside BUdleigh Baptist where i now attend. PLUS to all those who read this and have also supported.

Max! still got ya present!!

Right now Im ill. I had yellow fever when i was away. Its taken til now to work. I feel really bad.. So please dont get on my bus tommorrow!!!

lol

phew! I on the printing off stage of outlines for notes for the 20 sessions. I did try and keep it to 1 page per session. BUT it never works that way! Plus that's 20 sessions with 12 people at 27 pieces of paper.. hmm works out to 312 bits of paper printing!

So I'm using the laser printer.

With 2 days to go I really don't feel ready. I've ploughed my way through Romans and Hebrews with Revelation on top. Plus all the extra bits.

I realise I'm more of a sinner yet shouldn't feel condemned but should therefore live in the light of this as a living sacrifice! phew ! Oh and questions have arisen such as "Is Israel really all going to be saved?" look at Hebrews.... hmm

To be honest its been a great focus. But the time scale is farcical! I knew last week I was going. Plus I've worked for the last 8 days non stop on the buses. And with sleep in between I've not really been having much time for anything.

Although I nearly didn't pay for my car tax yesterday. I was busy chatting with Ali at the post office (who I did see and not buy a stamp!! - see previous blog). Then went and ordered my money. Today I'm having injections. Please I really pray that they don't affect me too bad as I still need to work Wednesday.

Then Thursday will be here.

Read this today on steves blog. makes for cheerful reading click here

At the moment I'm about 200 pages through printing and its slightly steaming so better go and see what the kids are doing as they are awfully quiet..

I guess what hit me is that is my life and ministry they are talking about, I'll be 701 in 2040. The biggest failure in the history of the church is during my watch. I'm getting angry - just what do I do about it ?

maybe lets create a tax disc for the church with an expiry date. However give the oppourtunity for renewal now.

must gather those again who have the same passions. why not use your site to gather.
