Remember Bullseye? Well if you don't you've really missed out. It was one of those programmes that you won money for darts and a bit of general knowledge. Although if you did win over all you won a boat! Which was handy for those living in Birmingham. If you lost they always showed the car!! lol.

SO with it being a week since i last wrote.. imagine the bully dart board and a darts presenter saying...

INNNNNNNNNNN One
I've stayed with the demon dogs of dogs this week. Having offered to housesit for Colin I asked small details about the animals. "if you want to keep dave (the dog) out then close your door" said colin. Hmm I got to bed on the first night feeling tired, been driving for 10.6 hours plus journey time home, and closed my door. Demon Dave decides he wants in and scratches at the door. Then thumps the door. Then does both. Every 10 minutes this routine continues. SO i let him in. For an hour he then chases his tail and barks at it. By now I am praying that the LORD gives out divine justice. So in human response i pick him up and chuck him in the garden. As i climb into bed Dave climbs through the cat flap. He hasnt done this to go wee in the garden but does to get back in. time passes and silence. I then awoke to a new hat on my head. SO its not enough that i shall be taunted by the dog but now the cat joins in and thinks its fine to sleep on my head!

The next night ive learnt. back door is open. bedroom door is open. i sleep but dave snores.

INNNNNNNNNNN Two
I saw Ali Withers this week and it was good. She even let me off a 2nd class stamp.

INNNNNNNNNNN Three
Wednesday was a "Praise God" kinda day. It needed to be. I was recovering from staying at Colin's. I'd been up at 5 a.m. and at work by 6. Spent time reading before heading out on the e n f's. 5 hours have past and im heading out on the 55 to Tiverton. Things are going well.. that is until i turn off the bus. so we've been told to switch off as it annoys people etc. well when it came to switch it back on.. nothing. NOT A DICKY BIRD. So another 4 people try where obvisouly i've failed. lol.

So i ring as they are not answering the radio. This is when i discover that my mobile is on 1 bar of power. Nicely beeps as says battery low. Ok so 3 hours pass. Im still waiting. I ring them again and my phone dies. So eventually the machanic turns up. Tries everything i've already done. Looks at the engine and fiddles with the starter motor. Nope nothing. Goes to the van and gets a hammer. About to hit the things and it starts. So i drive it home. Now Im on my way to a meal with Chris and Jannice Kitson (more later). Supposed to be there at 6.30. Well its now 6.30 p.m. and Im at my car.

I drive off feeling something is not right. Of course its not. I have a flat tyre with no way of changing it. WHoo hoo. Praise God.

Matt Turner turns up at 7.15 with a foot pump. Yeah!! By 8 p.m. i get to the Kitsons for dinner.

INNNNNNNNNNN Four
Saw Colletaral this week with Tom Cruise. Well its interesting but rubbish. Not really the best Ive seen Cruise in. A nice idea but.. do better next time.

INNNNNNNNNNN Five
Matt Turner is lovely. He rescued me from Exeter and ordered me a new tyre for my car!! So I gave him a nice bit of rump stake. He was worried when i kept singing to him "Gonna make this a night to remember".

INNNNNNNNNNN Six
Chris and Jannice Kitson are also very lovely. They've looked after me, fed me, prayed for me and blessed me with some money.

INNNNNNNNNNN Seven
Im off to Keyna. No really in 3 weeks time i am off. Ive been asked to do some training in Keyna with a handpicked group of people. We train them and then they train others. Man a lot of respnsibility. So i have to create 21 hours of lectures. Hmm tasty I say.

INNNNNNNNNNN Eight
Ok bad news on the 10 day sale at McDonalds. Ive pigged on Two Big Mac Meals (with Matt!!), Two Chicken Meals (on my own ahem) and i been very tempted to eat the Quarter Pounder Meal but resisted.. just.

INNNNNNNNNNN Nine
Finally I've seen my old youth group member Nathan and his wife Esther. We went to Canonteign Falls which was excellent. Nice long walk. Well made me fall asleep! which was not helpful as i was doing a disco that night.

Sunday Service with an interview with Ute this sunday.

you don't seem to be doing to well with buses at the mo, lots of breakdowns! So, your off to Kenya. Thats alot of responsibility for someone in your position. Hope it goes well. The demon dogs will be good practice for the wild animals of Africa, don't get eaten by a pack of wolves or anything.

It was good to see you. Will be praying for your time in Kenya I should imagine buses breaking down will pale into insignificance out there!! Hope you will be a great blessing and be greatly blessed, be good to get together when you get back, I'll buy you a coffee and you can tell me all about it. Keep safe . Ali

Click to Enlarge i've never been on a bus that has broken down. well until last night.

thought i'd meet up with rich and have a few drinks. last night shared how god brought me to exmouth. get the last bus home and tra la be back in time for midnight (you know i really do turn into a pumpkin!)

for those who know Exmouth we got as far as the Speed Camera (well actually at the top of the hill). We'd run out of petrol. Nice. So Midnight comes and goes and you start to question "Do i get off the bus and walk? Or should i wait?". I waited. I know the driver and i meet some of the passengers, one called becky who works at McDonalds and is a manager and gets paid £5.75 a hour, and we all chat and laugh (hmm) for about 45 min. I really could have walked home.

Click to Enlarge taken from http://www.theblab.com/archive/blab_46/images/groundhog.jpg Yesterday was also Groundhog day for me. In some weeks you do the exact same job twice. Same bus, same people and same route. Fortunalty it was one of those routes i didnt mind twice. but i have had worse. Although yesterday i discovered you can get a wine making kit from Londis (of all places) and make 5 gallons of wine. Wow i said. the passenger said it had taken her 5 days to drink it and she was still standing. Londis here i come.

Also been a few days of returns. Maplin.com sent the wrong stuff and so did everythingipod.co.uk. So ive been in the post office more times that i ever have. not that im avoiding the PO. But did you know you can print your own stamps!! Seriously. go do it. AND they are legal. Same price everything. AND you can put a logo (yours if you want) on it.

So the flat is still empty apart from me. Although a brief visit from Matt and Chris (who left me his washing up - which ive left on his bed) was welcome. Tiff and suzy are living downstairs at the moment which is quite wierd!! lol

pitures from the wedding. click to enlarge

it comes to something when you enjoy vending machine coffee more than what stagecoach provides! Be honest who still drinks Mellow Bird? It looks like Stagecoach have a deal on it in Exeter. It is so pants i would rather grind mud up and put it with water. Ok for those who don't drink Coffee how about the difference of Tesco Value Cola to Coke!

So apart from that Stagecoach were very nice to me this week. I had asked to swap Sat for Thursday and they did it. All so i could go to Northampton for the day!!!

The fact that Katie and I had done a disco on the Friday night which really kicked off big style and got in about Midnight we were up again at 6.30 to drive to Wincanton. Here we would meet Matt, Katy Godden (edited after being told off - see comments), Ute and Sarah who had been at Soul Survior for the week.

Wincanton a meet came and went and the trip to Northampton had officially started! Mind you with a long journey ahead people were bound to fall asleep. 3 hours later and a change of driver we arrived in Northampton. However we were lost. No one had bought the invitation to the wedding (you know the one with the directions inside). All we had was Matt's downloaded driving thing from the AA. And we'd already missed that direction.

So we stopped in a shell garage. After ringing two or three people to find out the name of the church we were going to we asked for directions.

At this point those who had been asleep had just awoken.

For a laugh Matt and i came back saying we were in the wrong place. This was true. However we said we were in Southampton not Northampton. We'd turned right instead of left at Andover. Ok totally unbelievable you'd think huh? Oh no we'd got them hook line and sinker. One of them popped up with "No hang on it says Northampton on that sign!!" , "Yes" we replied "but we are in the north area of Southampton which they call Northampton". Sadly they all believed us!

Ok we carried this on until we got to the church. Answering any questions with the fact their are 2 exmouths in the world. Some places have the same name across the country etc.

On arrival at the church Matt and I were beaten up.

Girls being girls took 3 days to go and get changed. WOW was all i can say at this point. Not having seen some of them get dressed up!

The service was great, the preach was poor, lighting of the candles was a nice idea, the worship could have been in tune, the opening song was brilliant and the written song by the sisters was excellent. But i had found the whole thing quite difficult. Another memory being relieved and still quite raw. Must admit hadn't even given it a thought until I was in the service. Glad Matt gave me some tissues.

The afternoon was spent roaming the streets of Northampton (you know the north part of Southampton). We ate in a Weatherspoon (the McDonald's of the pub world). Here is a tip. Find a girl (ie ute - said Ooo ta) who likes soda and lime. Buy her drinks all night. AS it only costs 40p !! whoo hoo.. Promised I would take her out anytime! lol

Then back to the reception place. But a sense of humour is needed as we discovered the reception place was about 500 yds from the Shell Garage! (see above).

After the imaginary food fight with fruit and Milkshakes. Come on i had pineapples thrown at me and chocolate milkshake over my head. BUT when matt through the star fish at me i was in trouble! The disco started! Cutting the cake involved us using a panto gag (as supplied by MR TURNER). After 3 lets shout out "Mr Wood where are you we are cutting the cake right now and we need you". lol

First dance (as supplied by guy leading worship earlier!) and then we were off. Brief moment of tiredness from the guests as suprisingly the food turned up. Why do they do the first dance before the food??? The rest of the night was cracking. Some good sets and Matt's mixing has improved. Ok one slow song and i asked Katie to dance. So we did (you know at arms length with minimal contact) and it was filmed.

Time came and Becky and Andy left to head off for their first night and we played on like the band on the titanic. Whoo the heck stays after the bride and groom leaves?

Midnight and we pack up and eventually leave!!

Wincanton at 3.30. Sad to say goodbye to Sarah who is off to Canada (read her interview on my podcast within the next few weeks) another farewell to Katy Godden who is staying in torquay, bye to Ute, who i admit looked stunning, who is going to the USA, Bigger farewell to the lovely Katie who is going home but then to Patchway (where I first started ministry!) then of course the one and only Matt who i live with. But i will miss him all the same.

Exmouth 5 am. tired exhusted and of need of a bed fast.

0930 3 are on the phone wanting to sell me a phone.
0935 Someone text me
0936 Back to sleep
1235 Awake realising i need to work in 3 hours

hmmm. why do we do these things. love of course and sheer stupidity!!

take care.

Hi Simon!

Nice to read your description of the very random day. I just have one complaint - you spelt my name wrong!!! It's Katy Godden, not Katie Goden - don't ever spell it like that again!

Was good to chat to you on Saturday. I miss seeing you at Cluster and Conference.

Katy

By Anonymous Katy Godden, at 12:43 PM

Don't blame it on sunshine. Don't blame it on moonlight. Don't blame it on good times. Blame it on the boogie.

that was the week that was so far.

Don't blame it on sunshine. Well had a fantastic time in Cornwall on Sunday but yup the Sunshine caught me out and burnt my neck! So all week I've had a stiff neck. Yo! Mind you have been working early this week. so when the Sun has come out I've been going home.

Don't blame it on moonlight. I lost my diary on Sunday. Well to be honest I was tired from the weekend and couldnt find it quickly. Blamed everyone in my room as it was their fault. So at 2230 I rang Stagecoach. Yeah hi its Simon any ideas on what time I'm starting Monday. You what. Ah ok. Thanks I'll be asleep in 1 minute. So with the life of the street just starting up outside my window I fall asleep.

5 hours later Im up again. The moonlight still inviting!

Don't blame it on good times. So I've had the chance to say goodbye to Annie. Who was previously on the ICE team. Last night we had a takeaway and video night. After watching Constantine (ahem watchable) Annie and Sarah popped in to collect Katie. Let me say all Matt and I wanted to give them a 'Tuck and Turner' Hug... The nail marks in my hand are enough to prove it didnt work.

Blame it on the boogie. The Wedding Disco's are up and running fast. And over the next 8 weeks i have one each weekend. So whilst the money is great it's all a bit busy.. Plus the Grease Mega Mix is great....but. Matt has been recognised. Last disco we did I walked in not a whisper. But he walks in and the bride knows him!! oh yes.. but do we know why.. well he wouldnt say.. lol

So tomorrow Matt is off to Soul Survivor. Chris is still away in Cornwall and likewise Geoff and Lynn. The house is mine, all mine.. Sadly still working though.

Did my first Podcast and its been delivered to the masses. Somehow 51 people have downloaded it. I added it to Feedburner and also to Itunes. How funny is that. People may even subscribe. lol

it was my anniversay yesterday. just another reminder of the past.

hope you are all ok.

friday night but dereck has gone.

Ive not really been watching Big Brother but I was amazed to see the new comer Eugenie stand up against Dereck in a vote. Could Eugenie be the Mole in the house. Ahem a subject dropped until this week just you wait.

Ive been working on random shifts this week. Late ish starts with late ish finishing. So a chance to see some people from work in the pub. Managed to get 2 people together. Have shared faith with both. So maybe Gods started a little church with people on a journey. You never know. We'll see.

there is a chance i could be involved with doing regular shifts. So I'm a thinking...

Saw the kids this week and we all hit the beach and if i may say so had the biggest sandcastle ever. Loved it. I also get to spend Sat and Sun with them which will be great.

Monday i met with a couple from my old church and this was good. God has started a repair work in me.. bit more stiching me thinks.

Oh and ive updated my audio blog. Well i think this one is getting better on quality at least. For some reason 8 people listened to it. lol
