Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away. Now it looks as though they're here to stay. Oh, I believe in yesterday.

the only toubles are those with sleep and boy you live with the consequences of lack of sleep when you drive for a living!

it all started at 5 a.m. when i got up and went to work. a short gap after as i frantially found "star trekkin'" by the firm (what do you mean you dont remember it? click and listen!!). Also downloaded "Beatiful Day" because I wasnt thinking that I actually had it on a U2 album. So the IPOD is coming in handy! Although i await the charger for it. tommorow in all good faith the Turner will collect.

the evening was then spent at St Olaves (who is this saint?). I asked about 10 people this week where is St Olaves (click to see it) in Exeter. No one knew. But I spent the evening there and it was great. The groom asked me what would I like for a drink? I replied Orange Juice and Lemonade as Im driving. He said fine. The next I knew was a girl turning up with a Jug of Orange Juice and Lemonade. Whey Hey. Sadly I spent the evening on my own. So when i needed the Loo... I had 1 track to do it in. And where were they? Yes right the other side of the bar, and a packed bar it was. Then their was the guy who kept asking for "Pet Shop Boys" (actaully that's a lie a ton of people asked for it)(sorry that was also a lie only 10 people asked for it), someone asked for "The Bump" and "Brothers in Arms" (sadly however it was good for the person who asked for it the rest didnt quite appreciate). But all was well and all had a cracking time. Played a load of stuff I havent played for ages (didnt play the 60's Mix! - matt would appreciate that!)

But rolling in to bed at 1.30 I think was a long day.

So why am i up when i have to also work tonight. My parents.

I shall appreciate them both and get them to take me out for lunch!

SO two days off have been a whirlwind of partying again (nah not really). spent some time with trevor and it was great. A work college who I can pray and worship with. Superb. Then a bit of a retreat and off to see Colin. Then talked future and past. Being a dirty stop out came back friday morning.

Friday was a day of crealy! yeah!! I now have a crealy pass. Who ho. So I could pop in for 2 minutes or a whole day. Oh and i could take the kids as well!

Saw Stuck on You yesterday. here a film made by the boys that did "Something about Mary" and "Dumb and Dumber" had the potential of being very very funny. It didn't. What a waste of 90 minutes (i could have been watching Big Brother or even Titanic). I didn't even laugh once. Dont bother if you've not seen it already

today i work late then I have tommorrow off and then work a week of earlies. hmmm 5 a.m.

Erik Estrada is back. Well maybe not. Just seen him on morning tv. Ok for those who have no idea of who he is?click here

lol

This week I've also closed another chapter in my life. one more to go.

Thursday, July 21

so its thursday and two days of partying have taken their toll on my life. well its that age! lol

ive been listening to matt on the brix radio this morning which is great! plus one of my favourite home bands Escapade are in town tomorrow night. I hope lots of people attend.

I wondered the other day whether Churches would be great venues for bands. If you think about it these places were built for sound. So heck lets pack them in on a Friday and Saturday night.

Does a place lose its holiness? Can it still remain holy? how does somewhere gain holiness?

hmm. that was a bit deep. I just dont want churches to lose their holiness (or do they have it or is it people that create the holiness) just to meet people.

ideas ideas ideas. like football grounds why fill them only once a week?

reading a book sent by the lovely david hutter called the visitation by frank peritti. loving it. thanks dave.

Better get on and party somemore before i forget.

Well that's it. I've reached 35. Can't believe the time has whizzed on by. Already I've been jumped on by my kids. (Kay brought them round at 7.30am) I love it. Daniel is incredibly funny at the moment and entertained us with a virgin bag on his head! Already eaten birthday cake as well! Been given money, a crealy pass and a Doctor Who DVD must get the others.

the buses has produced a number of incidents over the last few days! I've had the 4 bum salute (mooning!), people drunk, people crying and of course people moaning.

i'm meeting with a guy called richard tomorrow night please pray as i want to share something of our faith. Hurrah for Trevor (this is the christian I met on the first week) we are meeting up on Thursday to pray, worship and share. time for a new church.

yeah.

wow the word tiredness doesnt even hit the spot! this week ive been driving 11 hour days. grr. However ive heard some great comments from people!

Control come back
This is control
Can you tell me which bus goes to Lawn Cest Town?
Er where?
Lawn Cest Town?
Er can you spell it?
L a u n c e s t o n

Who said Bus drivers are thick! lol

Saw the best movie ever this week. Ok not sure about ever BUT let me tell you it is worth getting your orange phone (or stealing a friends) and going to see War of the Worlds.

I love speilberg, he has created a movie with all the best in fear, in suspence, in delight, in hope.. can i go on. I joked to Jon who i went with that Tom Cruise Dies in the movie. At one point.. nah wont say anymore.. Ok the film has pace all the way through. Even when we are having a breather it has pace. Tom is not the hero but you feel for him and his daughter simply trying to get away from these machines. We want them to survive and boy they make it hard work for us to believe its going to happen. Fire, water, explosions and a whole load of aliens. Fantastic.

go and see it.

Also watched National Treasure. I loved it and my kids loved it. For a good treasure movie then this is it.

Next week im on lates. Nice. See that Jon Proctor will be the next ICE team leader. Im more than sure God will use him in a great way, need to pray that he sees what God wants..

Ultimately I feel crap at the moment. but ho hum.

so my mum is out and last night we even went out for a meal. She is in pain but she feels ok. got to spend some time with her yesterday and today. yeah i love my mum. just hope that my dad and brother sort themselves out and help out!!!

had two great conversations on the train on the way there and the way back. I wanted to see a couple of movies on the laptop BUT god had other plans! the second guy (paul) had really been put off from church he had been to Pathfinder Camp as a child. then discovered that people weren't good and had got fed up with the hypocrisy. Great!

I wondered if we ought to as the church say sorry to the previous generations for letting them down. Maybe it would be healing and making us aware of changing for the future.

also randomly I've been thinking of becoming a plumber! Matt reckons i should call it "Hope and Springs Eternal". I wanted "woman by the well plumbing"

Ho hum.

well I have also looked up maybe into becoming a vicar.

something in me just wants to do something that will make the difference. I'm trying at stagecoach but i need a focus for the future.

come on Lord

hey si! its good to know your mother is doing better. and don't worry about doing something that will make a difference. You just being you is a world changer, from chatting with someone random, challenging a friend to look at somthing differently or not being afraid of doing the unusal. I'm sure where ever God puts you will be a place where you will make a difference. Anyway i hope all is well with you and as us americans say "keep on trucking..."

thanks for praying. mum is still in hospital but the operation went well. Im going up on Tuesday but will let you know when i do on her progress.

I am also amazed that only 37 are confirmed dead in yesterdays explosions. Having lived and worked in London for 19 years and travelled the underground for years I know how busy they are. let us pray for justice and for God's continued hand on the situation.

YEsterday I met up with Steve Jones (the dio youth officer for Exeter) and even talked about a Church Squad Team. A band of people ready at hand to serve situations like this in conjuction with the emergancy services. Offering Churches as places of safety, comfort and places to eat with access to information online. Dont we have a great oppourtunity NOT to cash in BUT to serve in every and any way.

The buses in Exeter were also on alert yesterday. The airport was closed. Even Devon was affected.

Let us hope that we are not distracted from making poverty history and saving the lives of 50,000 people.

Glad mum is going on well I made sure we prayed for her even with the bigger events that swamped us yesterday, good to hear your other comments too these are times when the church could really come good and show people the real meaning of Christianity. Take care on the buses love Ali W

Friday, July 1

yup its been a two week break. needed to say the least. however it has made me ill.

the first week of the holiday i spent with the children at a fabolous holiday park down in Mullion. Doing the lizard (mon), cornish goldmine (redruth) and Portreath beach (tues), falmouth and momouth beach (wed), penzance and st micheal mount(thurs) then party on down at Flambards before we came home on Friday.

Each day held its own suprises. the Sid and Lizzie Show (oh yes they have a http://www.sidandlizzie.co.uk website!). Of course we all loved Sid and LIzzie so much we wanted our photo with them! guess what that cost a £5. Hey bingo was on. I must admit Ive never played bingo before so i had a go. what is worse -
playing or winning? Ok I won. but not just once. over all i won £13. mind you the price of the drinks. that covered 2 rounds (3 cokes and a beer).

then of course what would a holiday be without being pooed on by a seagull! lucky? hmm this was the same day i was acosted by a WOMAN whilst sitting in the shade that i should put sun cream on my children. Whoo hoo! (for the purposes of this blog I will not lie (of course) and tell you they had on factor 25!) And threw factor 30 cream at me!!!

the holiday was getting better!!

by the time thursday came round we nearly died in the heat!

thursday night we nearly died in the flood. ok a slight eggagertion BUT would you want to be in a caravan in a lightening storm? yeah me neither!

However this left us with Friday at Flambards. Excellent. Especially the bit when the guy was searching the poster for the excellent rollercoaster and couldnt work out where it was!!! My kids made me do it 5 times in a row.

And that was the first week!

the second week we went to my lovely parents. My body decided to give up and i went ill. so sadly today i saw the other side of a bed.

ok not entitly true, whilst being ill i took my mum to the hospital (please pray next thursday as she is having a cancerous growth removed) for a pre opp check up. I went out for a meal to a resturant that ran out of chips! got given a cd player for my car and had my eyes tested.

im now in bed. just seen what i thought were the last 2 episodes of 24 and turns out that they werent! grrr.

take care
