TGIF. yes indeed and im on holiday in 2 days time. doctor who finishes this series in 1 days time. today i dont want to waste!
So looks like i ought to go to the shops and get a card for my dad as its Father Day. Sunday will be strange in many ways but it feels like another hurdle to cross. I love seeing my kids and at the moment it is rare to the extreme of spending the next 2 weeks intense!! (expect more gray hair!!) Then i ask what influence am i having or have i had over their lives. seeing them rarely leaves little time for discussion or chats about real stuff.
People have said its about quality not quanity. i would love a bit more quantity honestly. I sit in the flat some mornings on my own wasting time. i cant see many people as they are at work. especially as I live on those days on the clock. what time do i have to leave and do i want to drive anywhere when I'm going to be driving later.
I've decided that until i leave the bus company i will try and learn a new skill. infact i did think about retraining as an electrician!! man are they in short supply.
Still waiting for the miricale of a mid week church for shift people lol. Although not to have missed the chance i heard that christchurch woodbury do a midweek church. So might go and explore. Especially when i get a wednesday night off at the same time that it runs every other week!! So probably once every blue moon then.
yesterday's food was "3 John 11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. ". So to try and work this out on the bus! Speeding and giving correct change etc. Its been a challenge to work out Gods word on a daily basis. (i think i sorted the do not murder quite easily the other week!).
So another night on the "A" bus route. Yup 9 hours on 1 route. I cant wait. Although I've now finished the 5 part triology!! so need to find another book or series. though i am thinking of reading the Narina series again. deep thinking books are nice but not really for quick reading on the ole bus of love.
food on the bus is NOT a good idea! I really want a ban on the smell of KFC wafting towards my nose. Although this is a pleasent smell. Last night i did think i would get drunk on the fumes from others. its nice being the last bus. Oh and someone questioned the prices! about time to! ok I do a trip that is 4 miles = 1.20 and a trip that is less than half a mile = 60p. hmm.
well better get up and start the day! whoo hoooo.
Sunday will be the last post for 2 weeks ok.

when the nutter gets on th bus, does the nutter sit next to you? the nutter always sits next to me!
sadly not my words but jasper carrott! But even more so its true.
yesterday driving along, pick up this guy at sidmouth, a moment later i see him hovering about the drivers cab. "Is this bus number 42116?", "Huh" i reply, "You know Bus number 42116?", "Er" quickly looks at card that tells number, "Well?", "Er yes it is?", "Oooh great, i was on this bus yesterday, but you know its going to have trouble on the main hills!"
nice.
Also i wish that people would ring the bell! its not hard, finger button, button finger. Such as a woman yesterday who told me when she got on I want this bus stop. Great I reply BUT that was 20 miles before... So when i passed the bus stop. a small yell from behind. a very happy (!) woman comes storming up and tells me in no certain terms... nice.
And it was my sisters birthday. yeah
today i am going on a boat and meeting up with my last cluster people. and its raining!
whoo hoo

phew.. The last week has been a tough one. Work has been very exhausting. 10.5 hours of driving each day with Wednesday being 14 hours.. I'm done in. Plus on Thursday i was watched and inspected by Devon Council on my bus driving and route timing. I think that they are having a laugh seeing as I was told off for being 2 minutes early at a bus stop! So that day i was on time and driving at the recommended limit! Then Friday night after a day on the buses I do a disco! (especially when i needed to be up at 4.45 a.m. like all week) Then I finish and put up online the new look swym website www.swym.org.uk
and that's it. I'm dead.
I've started to put to bed some of the old stuff. One of them is the swym website. It now up to matt and dorit for as long as they are there (eh matt!! Don't say i started the rumors!!!!) and hurrah. www.task-centre.org.uk/try will also be finished soon as I'm waiting on them!
Doctor Who is also nearly finished and that is sad. Been a great start to a great series and yes I've joined with the badwolf forum!! lol this time round its been a fantastic all round experience.
doing the ole buses has improved my reading. Get the time to read the bible before i start work whilst on the bus. (loving stagecoach for paying for my bible reading!) then on the ole routes bit of praying. And also reading the 5 Part trilogy of The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy: A Trilogy in Five Parts:Douglas Adams. Big thank you to Matt who bought it for my birthday. Ok so its not until July but he was fed up with me going on and on and on and on and on and on (ok i think you get the picture!!) about borrowing his. So he got me my own. Yeah my second copy i think! my others i have given away! NICK!!!
so Monday will hopefully to put to bed another chapter in my life. A few more things to sort out then...
will things become new or renewed.
3 days. Didn't someone die and come back to life in that time...
so is it better to let things die. I'm confused. I'm also very tired and am thinking with my fingers.
quotes from the week Whilst on the 85 and my front sign saying Torquay "Does this go to Torquay?", "yes" i replied "but only because you want to go there!", "Well thank you and when we get there I'll buy you a drink". Still waiting.
Still on the same bus but on the way back to Exeter "Hiya, this bus goes to Exeter ok" yes the people nod (that all knowing I'm nodding but i Don't know why really as I've not heard what you said). 30 minutes later. "er where is this bus going?", "Exeter I replied", "oh, we wanted to go to Torquay!"
"Did you know on that journey you waited 6 minutes in total at traffic lights" Jim from Devon County Council
"pouvez-vous jouer de la musique française ?", "er what?" I replied on Friday night at a disco
Come on who said life was boring.. (yawn) and so to bed.

ok so im not a gambler. well done the lottery once in some vain hope on a roll over. but how foolish is that. still last friday went to a casino night at jonathon dollings. amoung the copious amounts of food that was comsumed (really shouldn't of had that chicken salad before hand). Blackjack was played (which i won) and then roulette. ok by midnight i'd gone all out on a red and lost (honest saw it in a programme once). the game continued until 1 a.m. although its boring watching everyone else.. my friend elle came with us (matt turner at a youth club) and won. nice. lol
im glad it was only a bit of fun. but it is amazing to see people hidding their chips. wanting to win. being safe being reckless. for some the word fun seemed to leave the room!
still im now not tempted to go to the arcade and spend money or even find the nearest casino. which is probably a good thing.
its sunday and kay is working. my kids are out playing and im inside. still wishing church was midweek. going to write to the churches together to make a request on behalf of all those who cant make sundays.
take care
one week to go...

The future for church? "British telecoms operator BT Group Plc has wired up a church in Wales to allow the congregation to hook onto local high-speed Internet connections when they want a break from the sermon. Britain's largest fixed-line telecoms operator said on Tuesday it had installed a Wi-Fi wireless network access point, known as a hotspot, in Reverend Keith Kimber's St John's Rectory church in the city of Cardiff"
How crazy is that? But maybe he's got it right to meet another generation. Imagine your church with a hotspot. People would come for a coffee and bring their laptops. Imagine church on Sundays with live links to another church hearing the same sermon or even worship. Imagine live video reports from your missionary. Finding links about the sermon that has been given.
Imagine...
Do what ever you can to see the gospel proclaimed. As long as it's not immoral, illegal or unethical.
