Football crazy! Ok so will or will they not let Liverpool into the next years cup? This weekend also sees the playoffs for a move up to the next division! England plays USA (did you realize???) and won 2-1. Hurrah but now it will go quiet for a while until August (phew I hear some of you cry).
fads and phases its not just restricted to the world of football.
I can't believe we are nearly in June but it dawned on me today that it's half term! Being out of the school scene has made me forget. With all that's gone on I am glad of the break just guess I miss people.
Saturday was the day of the nutters on the bus. Everyone was on one. Major hold up with the parade of fire fighters from UK and USA. Ok slightly random but people cheered. I was the bus following the parade and still got cheered!! LOL. Woman gets on the bus and moans about showing her Devon wide card (this gives you a discount ok) and then shows me it 5 times. Then just in case I've missed the bell ringing she also rings it at least 7 times. Then complains she can't hear the bell, she can't see the sign light up that says the bell has rung. After she gets off we all laugh!!. Yeah! Also got a round of applause as I crossed the bridge at cockwood. Why who knows!
had a lovely afternoon at colin and mel's today with my kids. Daniel and Rebekah drove the lawn mower and crashed and broke the table. But apart from that all was well!
16 days to go.

Revenge of the Sith Oh boy. I loved it. Daniel loved it. For me it summed up the old 3 and was more akin to them. Nice touches with Spaceships (no need for the real names!!) and costumes. The movie answers questions that you want answering for the next three. Ok some people seem to die very early and a bit easily but some cracking fight scenes. Comical moments with R2D2!! And a very quiet moment for Jar Jar Binks!
You know what the movie will entail but you want to know how we get there. Daniel was amazed when we see a change in Palpatine. He couldn't believe he was the emperor!! Made me smile. Like the time we showed the final 3 (4,5 and 6) and their were gasps when Darth Vader tells Luke he is his father.
So I've not given anything away but I would recommend it to others who love starwars. Overall it is a good movie. It deserves its 12a. The change in Anakin is horrible and will stick in your mind. The movie shows a number of contrasts simultaneous which for my reckoning come off really well.
So do I want to see the rest? Yes! You finish the movie wanting just to watch "a new hope" again.
My reckoning is George Lucas has listened to the fans. Maybe he should of with the Phantom Menace.

I can believe what they put on the net. (click to enlarge it)
So its Wednesday and Beth is going to be 11 in 2 days time. Im sat listening to the Earth Song by Micheal Jackson. Still find that a very moving song. Beth performed to this in a play about the Earth (surpsingly enough). I miss my kids. I see them but they are growing up and i can see it but its difficult to think im having any imput. I hope the last 10 has been helpful.
Ive been reading James this week and found it tough reading. Read it every day and then re read it. I guess we are subjective to seeing stuff that we are going through in the light of what the bible is saying. Then i find myself trying and trying to put it into action. Then i remember i can't i need God to help me. Then i get frustrated as sometimes i seem to get in the way. How can i get rid of stuff that seems to have made up me over the last 34 years. I shall ask a brother to pray so i can be healed.
16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

So whatever next.. Only God knows. I guess its time to listen.

The latest fad? Is it already out of date? Or simply people get bored of filling them in. hmm blogs. Mind you I have enjoyed reading this particular blog as I've traveled around the net.. click here. I can't believe someone actually writes it..
so people update your sites!!!
So after the holiday the work began. Actually this week as been great. I've now totally relaxed into the job and know the different fare stages so when it comes to the ticket machine, easy. Bit of a shock though to discover I've been upgraded to "Mix" rota. Ok this may not seem a lot but I've only worked for stagecoach for 5 weeks. Other people have been there longer and have not been moved. So the last few days I've been learning how to drive to Tiverton, Credition and Newton Abbott by bus. Monday and Tuesday I need to learn Sidmouth, Seaton, Honiton, Torquay and Ottery. Then on Wednesday I start for real. So what is God doing..
thanks for praying for trevor. He now has a home. lets just say on the day he had to move out he had a call at 10 a.m. telling him he had a place to live. Man that's cutting it fine me reckons. But God is good.

(continue from may 1st) so the next day I had the chance to lie in and enjoy a major (heart attack)breakfast!! (6 bacon, 2 egg, 2 toast, 2 potato hash brown things and coffee). Then a wander into York. I wanted to view the place and see some shops and take in the ambiance then spend the last hour quietly in the York Minster.
So my friend Wendy drops me off and not wanting to ask for directions (male thing) I walked promptly out of the city thinking I was going in.. I got to the point when I realised what I had done when all the buses said city centre going the opposite way! Turning around I headed back and followed signs for the inner ring road. I found myself outside the city walls wanting to get in.
for a complete moment I then understood.
the trouble was it was easy to leave the city walls and I hadn't realised it. God then reminded me that in the city was safe because the walls were their to protect.
Ok this might seem obvious to all but for that moment I knew for me what God was saying. "Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control."
for another moment I wanted to get back in. Then stay in.
After a number of shop visiting and coffee drinking I made it to the Minster. However when I got there they wanted to charge 5 pounds to get in. So I popped next door to st-michael-le-belfrey home of David Watson and other famous people. This was fantastic although the guy at the door reminded me of that rude character in Father Ted. lol. Time to sit, reflect and pray.
day 2 over.
Day 3 started earlier with more food! Today I went for a walk and listened to New Great Themes of Scripture by Richard Rohr, O.F.M. Only the first part. But a cracking listen might even see if I get it cheap.. Today was understanding that whenever God breaks into peoples lives in the bible he said "don't be afraid". Judgment is coming but not today. Also to see how we are all on a journey.
well being that my self control was low I got hooked on playing "the hobbit" on the PC. Ok so I managed to finally get the ring! This is only level 5 of 25. Each level taking about 1 hour to complete. Restarts are essential with saves on route a must!
day 3 over and day 4 was the journey home.
lets just say day 4 was living on a coach. Leaving at 11.30 from York we hit traffic, people and more traffic. So we arrive in Exeter at 9p.m. Nice. So what led me to go to the pub to have a few drinks was stupid.
The rest of the weekend was cool and today is Monday. Lovely surprise seeing Tiff and Suzy yesterday. Today I got up to early thinking I needed to be at k's for 8.30 when it was 9.30. gr8.
Pray for my mum. Who yesterday told me (via dad) that she had skin cancer that might have reached her rectum. Life seems strange at the moment. Maybe I'm living in a dream.

one week on
im siting on my bed asking the same question that disturbed me last monday. do i care? of course I care. But do i care enough to do something about it?
so i went to York with this on my mind and met an amazing guy on the bus (more later). Getting to York the first thing we did was go to Ark Light and pick up some potatoes. Not knowing what Ark Light was I asked. It was a homeless project! Not only that it was exactly what I'd been thinking. I suggested we needed homes to rent out for 4-6 months at a time. this would give the homeless a place but also an income to then be able to move into accommodation else where. well i just need a million...
the guy i met on the bus sat next to me and wanted to talk. we had 2 hours to go from birmingham to york and he wanted to talk. well i dont mind really (well it could be the only time i share the gospel with him!!).. so i found out he was into computers. he'd been the first person at swansea uni to create a laser. he been into writing software for 40 years, he'd seen one of the first holgrams working and was keen to learn new computer languages.. wow he was really interesting. 2 hours past so quickly. he made an interesting comment though.. one was that even though we've got all this technology something is still missing. then he went on and said its almost like a sixth sense. at last after 2 hours of listening here it was. the chance to share the gospel. to point out that Christ is the answer.
and so I talked about it being Christ and how i was a christian. he then told me he was also a christian and a baptist. which obv made sense... lol. Then he continued by saying the world is normally 60/40 or 40/60 when it comes down to things. christianity is in an 20/80 split and its difficult to recover from the large minority. I am gobsmacked. this guy has never attended a single lecture on Church growth and is summing up the church. He then went on and said we needed to rediscover community in a world that your neighbour is in america.
gosh. so the world outside knows our position and knows what we need to do....
certainly made me think and that was just the beginning of the small break!! .
