today i saw something that has ruined my day.
today i saw a guy called david who i was supporting in school when i worked at exmouth community college. I'd seen him before around exeter. even talked to him. He's now about 18. At school he'd wanted to go do something after school, he wanted to go to college and do art. He had dreams and thoughts.
today he told me he was homeless. he is living on the streets of exeter and that's crap. mega crap. infact complete shit.
it has really wound me up. i know he has had choices to make but leading to this...
i hate it. I hate the fact I seem to be hepless about this and the fact that i had contact with him and now he is homeless.
well it made me look at different projects in exeter and how maybe i could support.
why...
grr . .

Just to say I feel the same since i started working in Exeter the homeless have made a big impact on me to the extent i often think I wish God had made me a man as i think it would be easier to get involved then. Ok enough for weird thoughts of the day, hope you are going on ok. With love Ali.W.

So to the Viking North I come..
With National Express doing £10 deals how could i miss out. Well apart from the fact I did. Forgetting that you needed to book 7 days in advance. So I can come back from York for £10. But to get there I would NOW need to pay £49 single. Hmmm. So realising I could probably wangle a deal somewhere. I find you can get to london for £7 then to York for £20. So a saving indeed. But not of time. lol. Ahem to travel the 298 mile trip (whoops sorry that is direct). To travel the 379 mile trip will take 13 hours. At an amazing speed of 29 miles per hour. So i reckon the Whole of Psalms then!!!
Today i was called a Muppet (hence the picture). Really made my day. Then people moaning about being late and the bus being late and so on so forth..
Oh well. But i missed the friday night fun on the bus. But i did after 3 weeks drive the S route. Yeah i know it sounds sad but well perhaps I am...
So Colin and Mel get married tommorow. Lets hope for the very best for both of them today and forever.
3 cheers

"In this ever changing world, it's reassuring to know that there are some constants, Church's English Shoes".. ok so its got nothing on the church but come on.. don't we all need constants in our lives.
then of course their is inflatablechurch.com/. Mind you it may not be the only church that can let you down at the end of the day! but thats people for ya.
speaking of people i had a lovely meal with Mr A.Guilder, and also Peter Kay, which was good to catch up and see what is going on in both of lives. nice..
ok favourite story of the bus today was... driving along and its obvious when you want to get off you press the bell in good time. I have no special powers that why i was given ears. Now when people get off I normally say thank you etc. So driving along two old dears press the button late. my super reflexes hit the brakes as i see we are near approaching, almost going past, a bus stop. well i enjoyed the moment i met this old dear come face to face with me from the back of the bus. So when i said "thanks" she said "not sure if i should say thanks when i nearly ended up through the windscreen". With the words from SClub "One Step Closer to Heaven baby".. lol
Small reminder "Please if you are going to use a £20 note then expect your change in £ coins." I do NOT have a magic supply of £5 notes. Also if your ticket price comes to 95p and you ask if i want the five? of course i do otherwise it would be 90p. lol.
ho hum
see you all soon

http://doubleyourchurchattendance.com or your money back!!
I can't believe it.. i love the wacky sites and this is def one of them!!
ok today is sunday and I've been to All Saints. The swinging of incense and bells ringing where slightly different to what i know but it was good. ALTHOUGH where is the reality of the world outside. The sermon was good but missed the pratical outworking of how i could use the information in the real world. Spirtual but practical no.. I've been thinking like this for a while but it seems to be more and more evident. Been talking to Trevor at work about setting up a midweek congregation for all those who can't make the weekend. He like me hasnt been able to make church since joining Stagecoach. Join me in talking about this please!!!
The flat is empty as Matt and Chris have dissapeared somewhere.. dum dum dah. Mind you after watching Doctor Who could this be the real reason... LOL.
I've been invited to lunch with the Naish's YEAH! and Paula has won the London Marathon. So what a day so far. PLus the fa semi this afternoon. might even get in a little sleep.. My children are away this weekend and wont see them until wednesday.
Last night's drunks were in force. One guy gets on telling me he is giving me a present of £1. Which i thought was very nice! One girl, drunk and hardly walkable, who'd asked for a child fare decided to start a fight with someone else on the bus. WHoo Hoo. Still that's my last late for a while. Next week I'm on middle's.
It's interesting but when i worked for ICE I talked Youth Work and now I work Buses I talk Buses. Just hope you're enjoying the stories from the life i lead now.

gooood morning. well its now really afternon but it feels like morning as I've not really beeen up for to long and still in my HitchHiker Bathrobe! I've also got my towel just in case!
I've now done a thursday and friday night in Exeter on the bus. Hmm what can i say. It's quite interesting. Lots of people, lots of people smelling of the delights of alchol, kfc smells wafting down the bus, people sleeping and missing their stops (for which I get the blame!). People also for some reason dont't want their bus tickets but do want to throw money at me. hurrah!
Also been working on a new look (and firefox'd for andy!!) for the swym site. as they want to streamline and make it more for recruitment. i've also changed the look again of the blog and the front page.
I also finally get a Sunday off. Mind you I'm working until 1 a.m. so will I be up in time.
See you on a bus.
:)

 The Famous Kiss
Well I am loved. Yup she was about 74 had a skinful and she wanted to kiss me. Thank You Stagecoach for providing a barrier between me and the customer!
So my first "late" and I had drunk Irish man who'd just gone to see a jazz band, a drunk hitting on (not actually hitting ob) a young lady and the roar of Chelsea fans and Exeter city fans roaming the streets. NICE.
just can't wait until tonight..

Happy days are here again. Well maybe.. just maybe..
Yesterday consisited of watching daniel play football in another shockinhg 6-0 loss. But then in a strange turn of events we see the team draw the next game 2-2. Daniel also won the Man of the Match. I was so proud. Lasting a whole 5 mins as they all (the kids) argued and shouted all the way home in the car! Nah I'm still proud of them all. Each of them delveloping their own little lives in their own way.
So last nights doctor who was also quite freeky. but we can rest in our beds safetly as Charles Dickens truely saved the world !! yeah.
I admit I watched the blessing of the wedding of Charles and Camila. I love the Queen and know that she is one of the last few remaining stable heads in this country. However I struggle with Charles. I want his happiness so yes let him get married. But he is no King for me. I admit I'm no saint. So I'm guesing the Queen is hanging on for William to get married and have a kid then she will relenquish the throne. Still we shall see huh.

and so i finally reach a 4 day off weekend.. 100% totally ready for it. today also sees the start of a 4 day break with my kids. yeah.
this week has seen, on the buses, me getting up and arriving an hour and an half TOO early for work, Ive done a week without my mentor and made things up, over charged people by 15p, undercharged people by about the same, left people at a bus stop, had a ticket machine break down on me (still better than a bus!!), had people shout at me, given some old ladies a nice chat, sang a bit on the bus (mainly true colours when i got to st davids - for those that know st davids will know why if not go have a look!) and generally enjoyed my week.
in the other world of my life ive had two meals out, one late night (till half past ten), watched kill bill 1 and 2 (and let me say if you've not seen 1 without 2 then don't BUT when you watch 2 wait as all things will be explained!! - you'll know if you've seen it)
just realised that spring harvest has been on. for the last 2 weeks or so and ive not even missed it. normally go for at least 1 day to pick up a bargin and listen to a speaker or 2.
my life simply revolves around buses and bed. great. but if anyone wants coffee (or other forms of soft drinks or hot) then feel free for next week. Next week i appear on the late rota. great.
Hitch Hikers Guide to the Planet is out this month. Looks great. I also saw Robots on my last day off. I loved it. I admit I wasn't sure how it would compare to anything. BUT humour was great (nice bit for adults with the tin man from wizard of oz), action was great, storyline however pradictable was worked out well. Go see it.
So Monday is coming round soon and Matt will be back.. will all the rumours that have come from across the pond be true, did they really extend their holiday knowing Charles and Camila were getting married (the amount of people I've spoken to who had NOT a clue when the wedding was) and has the ole boy bought some winter green breath savers!! COME HOME..
oh and i also got an RMT diary through the post. how exciting.
how are you (i've wondered is blogging too selfish)

can i just say i am loving the new doctor who.
also work is going swimmingly apart from the 9 hours of driving i have done today. which then means i see my kids for 2 hours and then they are in bed. great
its sunday tommorrow and ive not been to church for over 3 months and im missing it lots. no evening service that i can attend and its all a bit rubbish. i now realise more than ever that people on shift work and also in a position of seperation can not fit in with the mould of sunday morning worship. yet as a church weve done nothing for years and expected everyone to fit in. Im guessing the situation ive found myself in has highlighted this more than ever.
WAKE UP CHURCH
until next time... (well only 6 more days on the buses until my next day off..)
