Sunday, January 30

And so a weekend finishes and a week begins.

I've really enjoyed this weekend. Having the kids to myself was slightly strange but good fun. A fantastic Friday football night training with Daniel. Saturday will be forever known as take-away day! Ok so a nice breakfast at Woolworths (in Exeter) then down to burnt out Trago (which is now quite small!! And even more cramped!!!!) for lunch and brought a 10 socket plug thing for my new room! Then a drive along the coast back home to a bit of football, 2 hours of Pete's Dragon! And those very handy McDonald's Vouchers for tea! An evening with Man Utd and also a tough round of Mario Party 4. Sunday held a slightly healthier outlook. Chicken for lunch and then a nice walk around Sidmouth to burn off those Saturday calorie's.

Then Monday will be amoung us very soon. It means the first day on my own delievering.. lets hope its Exmouth or Budliegh.. Nice!

See you all soon

well aren't we a busy person. I must say Pete's dragon havn't seen it in years. Never liked it as a child but my brother did. Then finding out all the hidden meanings behind it let me slightly less than enthustastic about watching it. Also its quite interesting hearing about meeting Elvis you must tell me more. For many of my fellow countrymen have often said that Elvis is not dead. I personally went for the whole he was abducted by aliens but then again you would have to belive in aliens to belive that elvis was abducted by aliens. But then again i thought my whole childhood that my brother was an alien. Now im just rambling. God bless you tucky!

And so it comes to the end of a week.. And I must admit a week without the computer is no harm at all. In fact I've read a book. Not a whole book of course (no that's a lie this week I was mainly reading Corinthians 1 and 2) just two chapters on the Anglican Publication Mission Shape Church. A must read for all those thinking of joining the organization.

So how was that first week at Tesco's???
funny (you need to meet Elvis.. I can assure you he is alive and well!)
smelly (I've never smelt as many different (key word) kinds of smells. When that front door opens.. Oh boy)
expensive (actually everything in the canteen is really cheap. For example I had Madras curry and rice followed by rhubarb crumble and custard for a whole £1.44 BUT I went to one of those machines that you see in hospitals that give you loads of things you can see, you then press the button to move what you want round to the door, you then open the door and pay for that item.. Ahem. I did this and couldn't get the door open. Ended up paying twice for a yoghurt!! grrr)
healthy (ok it has given me the chance to get some beautiful fresh air in my lungs as I am lifting and unlifting (with my knees of course))
taxi like (I sit with my map and I map my route. Now I know where Stoke Cannon is!)
understanding (never have I heard someone use the most colorful language in one sentence. Never have I heard what people call some customers. Never would I describe no 33 as the woman with big... Trust me you hear it all day. And so it leads me to an understanding of the people out on our door step)
recognizable (so when you deliver to Exmouth, Exeter or Budliegh what are the chances of meeting people you know... Ah. Lots apparently!)
historical (just had to tell you I delivered to the birth place of Sir Walter Raleigh!)

So who says work cant be fun!

AND well you though that was all. This week I also passed my medical to work for Stagecoach! Yeah free bus pass on its way!! Come on..

See you all soon

nice.

also if you want an ordinary cup of coffee, tea, squash or water this is free but a capachino costs 21p!

even nicer.

ok so another week and another move to another house.. the future i hope will be a little more secure. and wednesday will be a medical! ahem.

Yesterday was great.

I saw lots of lovely people I have really missed. People such as Matt, Katie and Laura. Nice.

Not that it is a popularity contest in ANY shape or form (did Jesus ever have this problem?) but I also saw the lovely Martina (who doesn't have a blog!) and simply by chance saw Andy and Helen. Which indeed for meetings that were not planned were also nice!

What also made yesterday great was seeing Kath from S.W.Y.M.. Although the kind sweet voice simply wanted me to get rid of some rubbish from the S.W.Y.M. office. Which I admit did not do yesterday but will do today!

And not saving the best till last but we went broadband. Hurrah. Hurrah.

Oh yes and Liverpool lost to Burnley. Paul Friend where are you when i need to mock ya...

take care

see ya all again soon. me hopes..

Like the way I wasn't in the 'lovely' section! LOL Nice to see the site works so beautifully with Firefox, guessing that's one of the advantages of broadband! I'm now Mr Indie with my music and look (hurrah!). Anyhoo I did promise myself a cup of decaf so I'd better go... God Bless...

Monday, January 17

morning.

the weekend has come and gone and the sad reality of a monday morning hits like a wet sponge thrown at a school fair.. refreshing but just a little too hard.

dug out at the weekend one of my old school (oh yes thats really me at school)dance cd's and listening to it now. classics they may not be but invokes memories of a kind... just need a strobe light and a lot of smoke and i could be dancing in the Matt for his lovely help at the weekened. a mix of music i must admit we NEVER play!! and how we did for 4 hours!! lol. mind you i did abandon Matt for a while as i caught up with people from Nailsea whom id not seen for about 5 years. but it was short lived as his skills in the 90's and 00's are fantastic must work on the 60's!. ok I am also glad Matt brings his supplies of lovelness.. the food although looking lovely was on the little short side and we both ended up with 2 pork pies. Not because we werent hungry but because their was absoulutly nothing else left. yup a whole plate of pork pies and of course the customary lettuce! so hidden below the decks of love came Twix!! AND of course to wash it down the very lovely Brixington Blues the games on Saturday morning (in the rain.. not just a little down pour!!) were both losses. 2-1 and 1-0. Ref where were your glasses!!

Ok so a busy Friday and Saturday.. then Sunday I did the disco party from hell.. A number of lessons to be learnt.
1. Dont ever do ever again. Musical Chairs. What was meant to be a nice game of movement ended up with a fight, a stomping, a shouting, loads of crying etc etc. Im never playing that game ever again!.
2. Never put the food out early. normally do an hour of games and music (of course a tribute to Busted) then some food and then finish with 30 mintues of more games and music. well after 30 minutes the lady put the food out. so the kids sat down. nice. so the games that follow need to not be too distrubtive or i will have sick kids as well!!! aghhhhh
3. Never try and play a game on the floor which is meant for chairs! its simple really. dont do it.

and so it made me realise that perhaps instead of earning a small bit of cash i perhaps should have been in worship! oh dear.

the rest of the day was spent washing the car.. it did need it. and playing lord of the rings : the return of the king with daniel.

right now i would like to be working. so i shall await the post to see whether i will be knocking on your door soon and delievering products from our very favourite tescos.

nice

er i may have too much time on my hands..

Nice use of links by the way very intreging and i may even check out a few of them if work gets a bit dull (beleive me it's heading that way today!!)

If you are ever bored any chance you can check out www.exmouth-ice.org.uk i've got all the basics up and running but any suggestions are greatly appreciated, there are a few more bits to go on but need to grill the team for some info.

Thursday, January 13

well a HUGE thanks for all those who've been texting and emailing and also calling. I cant say how much i really appreciate it!! ok I can I DO appreciate it.

So today was the 2nd part of an extensive interview process!! lol. but was kinda cool and had to take "john" out for a drive to prove i can.. ahem glad none of you were their... but i seemed to have passed. unless John was lying etc etc.. hopefully i will be able to start on Monday or i shall look like john from Celb Big Bro. esp eating cause im bored or simply waiting for the internet to connect. aghhh

dial up is dead.. or i will be waiting for it to load. matt get the church to coff up £18 a month for your sanity!!

So celeb big bro. I admit i started to watch it but i have resisted watching it 24 hours a day.. and my verdit. john will win. the public will keep him in the house will hate it but it will make great tv!

Busted have split. I must admit i was shocked. no tears of course but daniel my on might be. I mean I travelled all the way to birmingham to see them and did they tell me before announcing it to the world.. no. so busted are now truely!

of course one of the joys of living in the middle of NOWHERE is that. the sky is lit everynight with the works of his hands. (you see Im still believing ok!!) and last night i saw a shooting star. feelin particulary low i was praying and their it went. unbelieveable i thought.. then i said thanks.

also my car is very very very (yes even more so) dirty! but according to the man who i live with (alas just another rumour) he says its a status symbol for living here. if my car was clean people would know i was from town and just visiting. ahh the dilemas of country life. (chews on straw and watches the cows)

back to exmouth tomorrow night for a weekend of discos, football and perhaps a little laughter. we shall see.

Tuesday, January 11

Well yesterday was a bit weird.. you know being interviewed.. Over the last 8 years Ive interviewed loads of new team members and Im more than sure that was a good thing. Questions on how do i work in a team, tell me about a time that i was in charge, tell me what is good customer service etc... Not a doddle but i could answer these questions... now i just wait for my driving license..

it has also been weird coming back to exmouth to see the children at the weekends and then coming back to me caravan during the week. with the internet connection being a massive 19kps !!! yeah. it takes hours to load a blank page let alone collect emails! So ive convinced Colin to take on Broadband !! yeah.. thank you!

Virgin at the moment are offering £17.99 a month with no contract and a speed of 512kps. Plus 3Gb of download. which for my reckoning is pretty competitive.

Means i can work on the webstuff that i do here and not have to wait till i get back to exmouth.

Hopefully I will start work next week but if people (who read this!!!) want to meet up then please do. Mind you probably meeting in exeter is not really half way but more than willing to make the effort.. boredom is very key here

thought of the old team yesterday as they started school and the possible rumours that will have abound about me. well rumours are great but dont they get bigger every time people talk about them. my family are important and already they are caught up with the action sadly. But even bigger is the fact that no one actually asks what really happened. As my father said the news is tomorrows fish and chip paper. lets hope so eh.

Ive also noticed some very lazy bloggers out there who do NOT update their blogs!!

lol. Im still smiling

I'm not a lazy blogger! If you want to meet up in Exeter some time I'm around most days during the day time but obviously not later afternoons and evenings. God Bless you very much...

By Blogger Guilder, at 9:33 AM

not lazy...just keeping people wanting more. ahem. not all our lives can be as exciting as yours mr tuck.
things are weird without you, you are in our prayers, so behave - He's watching you. but things are good so far school wise, rumours are indeed funny things but haven't heard much. we're going on the 'we'll be told what we need to know basis' so don't think we don't care will you.
watched star wars episode 4 for the first time ever the other day - matt and katie are nerds and that is all i will say. was good though.
anywho, bless you simon, the world is smiling with you
x

By Blogger Laura, at 4:07 PM

Unlike Miss McAdam (who by the way is a dead woman for not fully appreciating the greatness of starwars) i'm quite willing to admit i'm a lazy blogger i think maybe my life might just be uninteresting!!

Anyway i might do something about it some day!! Still prayin for you man and looking forward to Saturday when we get to rock the room (obviously not when the buffet is on though) i wonder... do we have any drum n bass!!

Take care

"this comment has been removed" Well living in a caravan in the middle of nowwhere (and im NOT joking) with no signal on an orange phone.. unless i move up the lane, hold the phone in the air and put it on speakerphone. lol. great.

and to top the week off we've had to put in a new boiler. ripping out the old, taking away the asbestos, taking away the flume, the airing cupboard, the water tanks etc etc putting on new themostats on the raddiators. a great price of 2 grand. hmm spare change me thinks.

So please pray.. those that do.. please ..

2005 is here. Offically as I told people at midnight last night at my first new years eve gig! With a microphone in my hand and sang (this time with a cd) Auld Lang Syne
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne!

Chorus.-For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne.
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

And surely ye'll be your pint stowp!
And surely I'll be mine!
And we'll tak a cup o'kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
For auld, &c.

We twa hae run about the braes,
And pou'd the gowans fine;
But we've wander'd mony a weary fit,
Sin' auld lang syne.
For auld, &c.

We twa hae paidl'd in the burn,
Frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
Sin' auld lang syne.
For auld, &c.

And there's a hand, my trusty fere!
And gie's a hand o' thine!
And we'll tak a right gude-willie waught,
For auld lang syne.
For auld, &c

Good ole Robert Burns huh! A mixture of 70's adnd 80's with a helpful topping of classic party tunes. I loved it. But I missed my family. It kinda wasnt the same. Dave and I wished each other Happy New Year. But the fantastic network syndrome that gives up each year at this time.. is amazing. you'd think they would have learnt!!

So what does 2005 hold? Who knows. If their is one thing i've learnt from 2004 is remain open and faithful. let nothing stand in the way of your relationship with God or suffer the consequences. Dont give up on people they really do want to hear about the man and the God Jesus.

So maybe i'll get some more discos to do. Maybe i'll finish off my MA?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot? Maybe. Some relationships arent for life they are for a time and should not be abused but cherished. Love as hard as you can but let go when you have to because you love.

this will be my last post for a while. well unless i can work out how to send email by phone!

see ya
