so we survived christmas!

was a bit dissapointed this year as i got NO socks No pants but plenty of deoderant! Also fantastic Indiana Jones boxed set and star wars stuff plus a remote control car!! yeah kept me happy!

went to a bit of a flat church service where my youngest summed it up. When are we going to sing Away in a manger.. she knew that it was christmas with that song and well all we had was O come all yea faithful.. not sure she understands yet.. A sad but also missed op on Christmas Eve.. where were the songs the public would know? Also a great communion moment. joe public does not know what to do with communion but does any one from that church help her.. no and she probably wont be back!

why do we forget so quickly what it is like to have NOt been in church..

make note to not forget, to use what God has created in the world to show the world who God is.

Away in a Manger, no crib for his bed
the little Lord Jesus lay down his sweet head
the Cattle are lowing the baby awakes
but little Lord Jesus no crying he makes.

oh such a lot has happened since last time.

ok the 7pm is now shut which is hard and cool at the same time.
should give us the break to just chill with the merger of the 6 and 7 and see what God is doing. Some people dont hold out hope.

I wanna see a service that allows people to be community. I dont want to sit for an hour or even 3 hours worshipping without talking to your neighbour. When their is no pratical outlay for seeing God at work that week at least prayed through or spoken about etc.

Listening at the moment to stuff from St Andrews Chorleywood (http://www.st-andrews.org.uk) which is cool. esp their series on the movies.

Matt is doing this in the evenings during the week and young people are turning up. Why not do this on a larger scale?

oh what does a service look like in the 21st Century that actually reaches and makes sense with the community.

oh ok

so its been a while and the week has been kinda hectic.

this could be it. im seriously thinking and praying about the evening service at christchurch exmouth. you see its about to stop.. well merge with a service that doesnt actually attract many people and the vicar guy wants to bring life to it..

we think slightly different.... we, may i, want to see the evening service grow. not for me but for God. I want to help people design and create a service that thinks of people, inspires people but gives them the chance to see their friends come through to Christ.

what does it look like? who knows. does it involve singing?? what else do i know what else have i experienced what can i really offer?? aghh wishing for the blue prints of what it looks like etc....

so pray for me...
